[Just sharing] Silence

Feedback Received!

To those times you hurt me,
I believed in you,
I trusted you,
But you tainted me.

I blamed myself everyday,
I still do.
I feel filthy,
And it’s all because of you.

Who are you?
Why do you hold so much power over me?
A friend, a neighbor, a relative, a stranger.

You told me to stay silence,
And silence I remained.

I was so young,
And I was so naive.
Why did I stay silent?
To let you roam free.

Some days, I am uplifted,
And others, I am a sunken ship.

You remain in my nightmares,
And even my day dreams.
Many nights, I have cried myself to sleep.
Still feeling the guilt as you roam free.

Should I be guilty?
It’s no fault of my own!
But, I still feel the guilt,
Because you roam free.

You told me to be calm,
And calm I remained.
Still feeling the guilt,
As you roam free.
