My biggest problem with Flora...

Why is she a red unit? Unless I'm missing something, red tends to be associated with fire, and I recall most people were assuming she'd get some kind of 'Flame Shuriken/Dagger' or something along those lines. Yet we now know she has the Hoarfrost Dagger, which is clearly ice based and even has a special snowflake/ice animation for its normal attack.

I know most people were saying she'd be red to finish out the color triangle that was started on the Festival banner, but looking at her now I'm just really wondering 'why red?'

I get she probably couldn't be blue because then we'd have 3 blues on one banner, but I feel she at least could have been green (see: Gunnthra) to fit with the ice theme.

Please feel free to enlighten me if I'm missing something. I just felt it was kind of weird.

Edit: yes, I'm aware of what happens to her. I guess people are trying to say this is IS pulling another Gae Bolg?

I have a similar issue with Nina being yet another colourless infantry bow.

Skills/weapon/specific colour aside, at least Flora won't immediately get lost in the crowd.

At the very least, she'll be able to take down Sutr and Garon with ease. Given how both of those axe-weilding monarchs treated people of ice, it'll be outright karmic justice.

If you want an in-universe explanation... ice-burns? Like, when you touch something extremely cold, after a while it feels like your hand is burning.

Another explanation could be that, instead of having an elemental advantage like most other red/fire-tomes, Flora is a red dagger more because of her fighting-style being more fit to take on axe-wielders and wind-tomes, so for similar reasons as swords being red/fire.

On the other hand, I could also ask why Naga, a light-tome, is a green tome in FEH, when other light-tomes have been blue tomes together with lightning tomes. Or why Ike, a hero associated with not just fire but blue fire, is an earth-elemental Legendary Hero.

Naga is green because when Julia was released they had more blue tomes than green ones.

Ike is earth because that's his canon elemental affinity. Elements in FE are personality based, not thematic.

Honestly I don't know why they'd do it other than ocd for finishing the color dagger triangle, but I'm just glad my Sophia will probably be able to very safely tank her.
