How’s life?
Do you think cheese is good?
Did you have a nice day? Why or why not?
Today is a new day, so I'm not sure yet.
Yesterday was a nice day, since I had it off from work. Didn't do much else though.
where do you think you are in life right now?
Wherever you are, you're doing great sweetie
In a bit of an existential funk over the topic of women.
Specifically, what is a woman?
I've spent a while trying to come at this question, looking for an objective answer.
I've finally come to the realization that woman is a social construction. I knew this before, of course, but I thought there might be some objective definition. Some objective kind of 'North Star' to point too. Of course, even the North Star is subjective, only proving reliable given certain assumptions about ones location. I wanted something I could measure myself against and finally arrive at a meaningful answer, some definitive truth.
Derrida is quoted in Of Grammatology, 'Il n'y a pas de hors-texte'. There is no outside text. Baudrillard in Simulacra and Simulation discusses the reproduction of reality.
Woman is a sociopolitical category. To be a woman in society is to be seen as part of that category. This is because woman is more like Baudrillards map then some actual, objective reality. Woman is, I think, a Simulacra.
Of course, the reason for my existential quandary is how that category relates to me. Am I a woman? Are intersexed or trans people women (those that identify that way)?
When I'm not feeling good about myself sometimes I poke the gender critical feminists. They seem so sure of themselves, but quickly I get the feeling I'm debating disingenuous people. Of course I recognize my bias, and I have to wonder if maybe they are correct, and I only believe them to be incorrect because of that bias.
So where do I think I am in life? Still trying to figure myself and the world out. Still searching for meaning since it's death, so loudly proclaimed by Zarathustra. Still floating in a meaningless universe. So, really not much different from most people.
Women are people with a vagina
So before you gender someone you look at their crotch? Very illuminating.
Yeah I just go the people pull their pants down and their underwear and boom you know their gender
