Anyone else getting near constant crashes?

So far the game has been almost unplayable, if not for frequent auto saves and saving. Still restarting every 10 minutes isn't very fun. Occasionally it'll crash to a search for help online dialog or something (not windows). Most of the time the rendering seems to crash while the rest of the game goes on just fine. For instance in combat the rendering will stop but I can hear the sounds of acceleration in response to my input as well as the enemy. No amount of tabbing out and back in has triggered the rendering to restart for me.

I'm running Windows 10 Pro x64

GeForce 980

I7-5960X x99 64GB DDR4 etc

Nothing is over clocked, using the newest drivers from Nvidia.

I have been running the game full screen, 1920x1080, no VSync everything max with 8x AA. I'd love to hear if anyone has this problem and possible work around. Also for the record I can play plenty of other games, Overwatch, WoW, Rimworld etc with no crashes so I do not believe it's a system stability issue. Also the system never freezes or crashes only SCO.

Have you updated your gfx driver? I have the same card, my crashing stopped after updating.

Seems there is actually a newer, I thought I had the newest, installed it so fingers crossed. Thanks.

Edit: Sadly no, rendering just crashed with the newest drivers.

You could try playing Ur Quan Masters while squinting until the SC:O patch addressing crashes is released...

I'm getting freezeups where the game is clearly responding but the screen freezes maybe once every 6 hours or so. Nowhere near as often as you.

Check your GFX drivers?

I'm having the exact same issue. New drivers did nothing to fix it.

I've been having tons of crashes. I turned off the steam overlay and the frequency of crashes dropped by alot. Still crashes periodically but I was for the first time able to play longer than 30 minutes without a crash.

Windows 10 i5-6600k Geforce GTX 960 All latest winders updates, video, and chipset drivers are installed.

Hey, joeclanson, just a quick heads-up:
alot is actually spelled a lot. You can remember it by it is one lot, 'a lot'.
Have a nice day!

Second reply: I turned off V-Sync, AA, and turned both the textures and the shadows down one notch, and things have been working well since then.

Weird. It's not like I'm trying to run the game on a potato; it's a fairly beefy machine. But I'm at least able to play it now, even if it is a touch less pretty than I'd like.

aaaaaaaaaand after getting it stable, finally, the new update has put me right back into crashland.

Fuck's sake, Stardock, get your shit together.

What an odd problem, I have a i7-6700k, 1080TI on windows 10 x64 and it has been very stable. Maybe try bumping up the power limit on your video card a little. Might be a bit of a long shot since the game isn't super demanding.
