I saw a light
I saw a light
Through a doorway
And it was quite surprising.
_
And as I watched
it grew and flickered
Before suddenly dissolving
_
So naturally I explored
And found a version of myself
_
But a version I despised.
_
One that needs remaking
Or utter disintegration.
_
And as I watched and judged
I saw myself changing
Into who I want to be.
_
A frame that was appealing,
A voice that was deceiving.
_
A version that would fit perfectly
With the lies of today.
_
Yet as I saw this, I wasn't satisfied.
Or at least the lie was not.
So I move to shield myself
From others' thoughts.
But before I act, I hear a quiet voice
One that worries, one that cares.
_
When I thought the world was nothing
But uncountable despairs.
_
And then I realize, I was changing.
But back to who I was,
To who I'm meant to be.
_
And the only thing that changed
Is you're now next to me.
_
Then you speak,
And you tell me that this isn't real.
That this is just a dream.
_
And I look at you, and try to change
Into what you I know you wanted.
_
But then you stop me,
And let me know that
_
I am all you've ever wanted.
