Winter

Winter.

Longing for winters cold embrace,

A comfort from guilt's bitter taste.

​

Summer fades, crisp leaves float away,

An absent sun turns blue skies grey.

​

Days pass to the darkest of night,

The briefest of light bathes bleach white.

​

The airs piercing chill numbs my soul,

I bask in beauty black as coal.
