Deceit

Are you inherently evil,

Or misunderstood?

 

You're supposed to grant goodness--

Love,

Shalom,

Salaam--

Yet you do the opposite.

 

Everyday,

You tell new lies to the impressionable.

Everyday,

More and more die because of you.

 

I'm conflicted,

Confused.

 

I love what your initial statement holds,

Yet I hate,

No,

Despise what you bring today,

What destruction your words hold,

Today.

 

But,

All is not lost,

Anything is possible.

For,

Your words could inspire,

Enrich,

Touch everyone positively,

Create safety,

Protection.

 

All I can do is wait,

Wait and hope for this,

For I am a victim,

For I am a believer.
