Blame
When all is said,
And all is done,
With our beds made,
And the death knell rung;
“Well, who’s to blame?”
The victims cry,
But all they hear
Are yet more lies.
A people cleaved,
Apart by cause;
Some are bereaved,
While others applaud.
Pundits stir pots,
As is normal.
Politicians flout rules,
As is formal.
The blame game’s over,
There’s no winners here,
Except for the powerful
Who profit from fear.
The victims seem–
Why are they victims anyway?
Who cares if they’re right,
If I get my way?
Society moves on–
There are better things to do.
Oblivious to the wrongs,
They carry on,
As you will too.
