I just finished the main story last night and I have not been able to stop gushing about this game. I absolutely loved every part of it. The way Kratos rolls right into the cutscenes, the gameplay, the runic attacks. I just wanted to say that somewhere. It honestly might be my favorite story/campaign game of all time.

I play single player games almost exclusively and I gotta say this one is definitely special. I'm not finished the story yet but already it's right up there with some of the best I've played.
The learning curve is fair, the puzzles are at least a little varied, and the combat is just delightful. Not too button-mashy but there are ample opportunities to go ham. And I like that there are enemies where it's not just "you're not good enough yet, but come back when you've leveled some and you'll crush them" and instead you have to figure out how to not die long enough to wear them down.
The contrast of your two main weapons and that battle where you are fighting two guys, each vulnerable to a different weapon so you have to keep switching, is just awesome.
This is it. Perfect summary. Honestly I think it’s my favorite adventure/story game I’ve ever played. Will most definitely be playing through it again.

I started it on the second to hardest difficulty, and I’m only a few hours into it. Should I restart and run it on the hardest or is there a NG+ mode after finishing I can run through it all again on?
I recommend sticking with that difficulty, then running NG+ on GMGOW.

Got my platinum trophy last week and its easily the best game I’ve ever played. I was gonna pass on it too because of my backlog but I said screw it and borrowed a friend’s copy.
Same. It stands next to ocarina of time and fallout 3 to take a top 3 spot for me, all time.
I just finished recently too and can’t shut up about it! My friends are all tired of me talking about it... they finished months ago. Sigh.... it’s just so good though.
I feel the same way. I have never played a game where I actually stop to look at the scenery. The mountains and background is so visually stimulating that I feel like I have to do it sometimes. Soak it in.

Yeah I actually bought it a while ago. Played for a few hours but just couldn’t get into it.
