Freckles and Scars (Expanded)
Decided to add some more to the short version I posted yesterday; much happier with it.
How beautiful
It is to think
They exist
To show our frailty
These pigment changes
Over time
Sun-caused or perhaps gravel
Sit in plain sight on our skin
A story saved
In every detail
How beautiful
It is to think
They exist
To show our frailty
These constellations
On our bodies
Reminders dimpled deep within
Marks of where we are today
As well as where
We’ve ever been
How beautiful
It is to think
They exist
To show our frailty
Upon our every
Fragile surface
Not a part left blemish free
Our ugly and our beauty
Writes for us
Our uniquity
How beautiful
It is to think
They exist
To show our frailty
So doubt for not
One second more
That dots and strokes left on our skin
Speak volumes deeper of our lives
Than lines on paper
Scratched with pen
Remember just how beautiful
It is to really think
They truly do exist on us
For all to know our strength within
