How can you teach your heart
Not to feel anything?
How do you tell it to stop beating?
Is it possible not to fall in love with someone
Who not too long ago
Was just part of a dream
And has now become
A large part of every single day?
Is it a crime to care about
The one person you wanna be with?
Can you dictate the longings of your soul?
Or tell your body not to crave?

How dare you ask me to deny myself
Of the one thing that I truly want
You are so selfish
That you don't understand
Nor do you realize
The hell you're putting me through
My tears fall to the ground
As you flash me that impish grin
You who dare ask me not to love:
When will you ever see
The absurdity of what you ask of me?
