[Feedback Request] The Change Process
The Change Process
Time stripped her down.
Returned her,
wincing,
a body of rough fragments
spat back at the earth.
Her scrapes struck the hard sand -
saturated and unforgiving.
She slept between waves and dunes
while salt stung her feet
And sun scorched her
red.
Her subconscious
mocked her with dreams;
salvation crumbled with moments of consciousness.
She stretched a hand.
Propelled by an energy
somewhere beneath awareness,
she stretched.
Searched for water
to cool her fingers
and observed the wells
her limbs created.
She watched the water
hiccup and hesitate
to fill her palm print,
disrupted by her impression
and shocked
by the craters in its course.
Her other hand pressed
into the firmness
she deemed better for rising
than for sleeping.
So, she brought her feet
beneath her
drew solidity from the hardness
and let the water cool her ankles.
With her feet submerged the stinging
of the salt lashes
became imperceptible,
insignificant,
without the whip of oxygen
from above the surface.
Healing.
She simply stepped
not noticing the power around her
but only the momentum of her body
overcoming the brutality of this place.
Her minute footprints and currents,
minor confrontations,
she trusted to change
the identity of the landscape behind her.
The movement was her proof
And
without qualifying her steps she simply
walked
And daydreamed of where the sediment she stirred might settle.
