Clear my head
I lay awake and dream of other ways
The hazy mid-fall days, and my mid-fall faze can bloom into a summer once more
I reach out my hands up to the glass
Of memories that have long passed
But it is filled with tears from ducts that have ran dry
I keep it steady, it's filled to the top and
The tears are heavy, I hope I don't drop them
My hands are numb, my face feels weak
As the days of the week
Slowly melt into one
And I repeat "I'm not good enough"
Until reason and consequence get mixed up
Even if I know it's a lie, I believe it, so I can hide behind the uneven tides of my half-baked disguise, that I have crafted to fool my own eyes
...
But I'm tired and I want to sleep
There are promises that I can't keep
I'm sorry to ask, but give me some time
Let my head clear, the musicbox unwind
My eyelids are heavy, the tears are heavy,
So let me put them back far away
The street-lights are pretty, the flowers are pretty
So let me dream them before I go astray
