[BFV] I completely wasted 60€ on this game
This is coming from a veteran who has been playing since BF2, this game is great, for the target audience that is fortnite and cod players. Ah yes, the old cod argument. Well the game is basically cod on larger maps. I can not take the game seriously at all, everything in it is just silly. The UI is silly, the gun customization is silly and fucking terrible, the gameplay is silly, the fortifications are silly, all the colorful shit on your crosshairs when you shoot someone is really distracting, and silly.
When I kill people I have no idea how many I killed since the UI gets bombarded with useless points like fortification damaged +3.
The squad system is abysmal to say the least, there are 10 squads 2/4 and they're all locked.
I won't even begin with all of the glitches, bugs and freezing.
The only good thing in this game are the maps and TTK, everything else is just silly nonsense. I had super high hopes for the game but it turned out to be a complete joke. After 4 hours of playing the game and the same amount of the beta, I can't get a refund of an alpha-stage game (I know, my own fault for buying it at this stage and fully knowing games in this era are rushed to release half-assed and broken) but I can uninstall it and never come back. See you all when the next promising BF comes around. I don't expect anything from the replies on this thread as they'll just try to defend this utter garbage but my condolences go to those who bought this game and can't get their money back.
Edit: oh and I completely forgot, no HC mode NOR custom servers. LOL

As a BF1942 veteran, this game feels like what Battlefield should feel like. It feels nothing like Call of Duty, and has the best gunplay since BF2.
It's only going to get better as DICE patches and releases Tides of War.
Tides of war is going to be bare bones content.
And when Battle Royale comes out, half of their attention and resources will go into that and its maintenance, which means the core game suffers, or vice versa. Look at what's happening to Call of Duty.
Uhh, no? It's certainly not going to be. New maps, vehicles, weapons, game modes, factions, etc.
Again, not really.
How many? Are they properly going to do the Russian theater? Asian theater? Pacific? Southern European? Central Europe? Famous battles? How many factions? 3? 5? Or just a generic 2 Axis and Allies? Compare that to BF4, and how much DLC dropped for BF4 and it'll feel like nothing. You might say "but different time-era in the game", which is true, but WW2 had a crazy number of weapons and tech used in it, which DICE should be more than capable of adding into the game, but they're not going to do it. They're going to push in the bare minimum. I remember reading about their DLC plans before launch, and saw this is nowhere near enough for a game that is going to have a duration of 1 to max 1.5 years.
LOL, we'll see when Battle Royale releases. The fact that it is releasing halfway through the game's duration shows this game is going to get next-to-nothing in terms of support. This game should have tons more content, but what they're planning to add is basically nothing compared to what they should be adding.
Apparently you haven't been following DICE all that closely.
They already pretty much confirmed US, Soviet, and Japanese factions. In fact, they realize that they can't stick certain factions in under "Axis vs. Allies" because they are too large or complex. We'll probably end up with three or four factions comprised of several countries by the looks of it.
We know Belgium and Greece are next. Probably Italy and more of North Africa after that. I would expect the Eastern front and Pacific theater to show up next year. DICE has already committed to two years of content.
What does getting released halfway through the game's duration have anything to do with support from DICE? Firestorm is being handled by a second studio (Criterion) - not DICE.
You use BF4 as a point of reference, but BF4 was too bloated of a game with content that was sub-par at best.
Really? heuheueheuheueheuheue. Best gunplay since BF2, says the guy who has probably not played BF2. Gunplay in BF2 was aby-effing-smal.
It was so bad, that BF died when CoD went WW3. Lol, you guys should memorize those talking points Dice hands you.
Being a bf1942 veteran myself, i completely agree.
