[GEAR] New member of the family: Gretsch Streamliner in Candy Apple Red w/Bigsby Trem

Like it says on the tin, it's a Gretsch G2655T Streamliner in Candy Apple Red. It joined the family a few days ago. Also pictured: a Baja Tele and a 2002 Gibson Faded SG.

They all play great, not sure I have a clear favorite as they work well for different things. The Streamliner definitely has recency bias and is the most visually appealing of the three, in my opinion.

FYI, "Streamliner" just describes it as being part of their economy line and doesn't do much to tell us what kind of guitar it is. "Center Block Jr." is probably a better descriptor, though Gretsch nomenclature is admittedly sloppy.

Thanks, that's why I included the model number which shows that it's the semi hollow (center block) with the tremolo. The g2622 is the full hollow body, I think. Or one of them, anyway. Also it's fairly obvious in the photo if you're familiar enough to even care in the first place.

I've got the g2622T, it's a full sized centre block semi hollow, whereas your 2655 is the smaller bodied version. The fully hollow body guitars are the g25's

Gotcha. I prefer the smaller body, which was fortunate because that's the one I found used at a good price considering it's in like-new condition. The previous owner hadn't even peeled off the little protective things on the back of the tuning machines.

Love my Gretsch. This sub need a more Gretsch love.

That's pretty much why I bothered to post it. Even this entry level model has me proper impressed. I did actually play a couple used Electromatics but preferred the Streamliner. Go figure.
