Like it says on the tin, it's a Gretsch G2655T Streamliner in Candy Apple Red. It joined the family a few days ago. Also pictured: a Baja Tele and a 2002 Gibson Faded SG.

They all play great, not sure I have a clear favorite as they work well for different things. The Streamliner definitely has recency bias and is the most visually appealing of the three, in my opinion.

I'm going to be looking for a used Telecaster this weekend and wanted an updated opinion poll for the best guitar stores in the valley. I'd prefer to support local businesses. All suggestions welcome!

So I've been researching a lot and I've played several different guitars and the Tele is just the one that speaks to me. I've mostly played on acoustic and classical style guitars, though I did own an Ibanez Artcore back in the day.

I've settled on finding a used, Mexican Standard Tele based on price and tone (I like how it's a bit warmer than the American, frankly). I know to watch out for the difference between the standard and the HH/Deluxe model, which although it sounds interesting, isn't really what I want. Beyond that I don't know what other gotchas there might be. So if anyone has any advice for buying a used Mexican Tele Standard, I'd love to hear it. Even just basic used guitar b

I had the most peculiar experience last night. While dreaming, I wrote something. In the context of the dream, it was going to be this brief but powerful intro chapter to a short story about a man's descent into insanity. Upon waking, however, it was... not much.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I've included the bit of "dream writing" below, which is probably about 95% accurate, I may have fuzzed on a few of the words.

What is madness? Is it a destination? Is it a woman drowning her kids in a lake? Is it a man carving into the terrified flesh of his lover? Or is it a journey of a thousand small cuts?
