An old rabbi feels his time on Earth is drawing to a close.

Long

He takes stock of his life and thinks about all the things he has never done. He thinks for a while and comes to a decision - he has always wanted to know what pork tastes like, and damn it all if he isn't going to try it before he passes on.

He's a cautious man, however, and he's aware of his status in the community, so he decides to travel a few towns over to find a restaurant. Looking at a menu outside a fancy place, he spots just what he is looking for - whole roast suckling pig.

So he goes in, sits down, and orders it. Soon it arrives, and it's a beauty - glistening, crisp skin, juicy and tender, with a fat red apple in its mouth. He picks up his knife and fork and prepares for his first taste.

Just then, a member of his congregation walks in, and immediately spots the rabbi poised over the forbidden pig! "Rabbi!" he cries, horrified, "What are you doing?!"

The rabbi looks at the pig, looks at the man, and says "This restaurant! I order a baked apple, look how they serve it!"
