Team of the week:

u/robdag2 smashed it this week, scoring 95 points with his selection. Some off-field decisions helped him climb the ranks considerably, including a strange but effective 4-5-1 formation. His faith in Sigurdsson was strong enough to entrust the captaincy to him, and his faith was duly rewarded with a 22-point haul. He ignored Aguero and stacked up on city mids with Sane and Sterling, and doubled on Liverpool defenders with TAA and Robertson, two relatively risky double-ups that paid off handsomely. He also doubled up on Everton midfield, although that didn’t pay off as well. All this with only 97.9m of his budget!

The unlucky team of the week:

u/lovegettinghit scored 42 points with his team. Punts on Neves, Vietto, Iwobi and Gray were daring, but ultimately his bravery was not rewarded as they all blanked. His captain Lacazette missed out completely, so his Vice-Captaincy went to... Pickford, who fortunately gave him 12 points. But when your highest scorer is a captained keeper, you know you didn’t do very well. His only other player with a return was Eriksen’s 11 points — a clever punt, but not enough to salvage the rest of his team.

(Up up Chelsea scored worse, with 40 points, but I’m not sure if they are playing weekly wildcard as their team was made before gw13, so i’ll leave it at there for now)

  • The most popular pick was Richarlison, picked by 82% of players in the league. He was also the most captained player, captained by 26% of all players. He blanked, scoring 3 points.
  • The most popular defender pick was Doherty, with 58% of managers picking him up. He also blanked, scoring 1 point.
  • The most popular forward picks were Aguero and Jimenez, tied at 61% ownership. Of course, they both blanked, each scoring 2 points. Notice a pattern here?
  • The most popular goalkeeper picks were Hamer at 44%, followed by Patricio at 35%. Patricio, unsurprisingly by now, blanked with 2 points.
