Help me choose fellow Tenno

Question/Request

I went on a bit of a warframe parts farm last night and got both Revenant and Nyx cooking away in my foundry, but at the moment I only have one slot left. Now I know they’re not the most stellar frames to farm but help me figure out which one to use first.... Nyx or Revenant.

Bearing in mind that Nyx Rework coming around soon.

My vote is for Revenant. He has easily jumped up to one of my most played frames atm. I never got hooked on Nyx for very long and her upcoming rework might change that, but I'm still gonna be a big fan of Revenant either way.

Your vote, as well as the so-far unanimous decision to choose Revenant has made my choice pretty easy :)

The one main con for Revenant (but also a pro in some cases) is that your thralls will probably be killed off by your teammates fairly regularly.

I built my Revenant for duration so I can keep some cannon fodder around me as long as possible but sometimes I blink and find a teammate has dashed through and torn said fodder asunder, leaving a few energy pillars commemorating their time in my service.

You can't get Revenant back if you sell him to open up a slot (If you don't buy him for plat), so I'd say get Nyx first and consider getting more slots.

I make it a point to never sell my frames even if I’m hurting for slots. So even if I got Revenant first I wouldn’t get rid of him for Nyx after :)

Sell prime junk, get slots.

Nyx is in a bad spot right now and needs a rework. Which she is getting in December.

Keep revenant. Only take out nyx once the rework comes or you need easy mastery.

Revenant is a lot more fun at the moment. Who knows what the new Nyx will be like or exactly when we'll get her.

I only use Nyx for mobile defense missions where I want to be lazy and ignore the majority of enemies.

Revenant is more engaging and fun for me.

Max range duration Nyx is amazing for interceptions. I did an arbitration with a Nyx the other day and nothing attacked us at all.

I would get revenant out first no matter what anyone says; Nyx is the only one of the two you can make more than once (without buying directly from the market w/ plat)

Revenant can only be reobtained by purchasing him from the market, so I'd advise you to not remove him after ranking him.

Now in my OPINION, revenant is worth keeping because he is actually really really tough. His 2 leaves him with great survivability(just watch your nullifiers) and his thralls mechanic is great for higher level missions, where turning an enemy to your team is sometimes easier than trying to kill it. His 4 also does great SCALABLE damage due to it's innate damage adaptation side effect, which works really well against armored targets(throws corrosive damage at every enemy it hits, weakening their armor)

Also, IMO revenant has an extremely badass frame design and is an absolute must have if fashion frame is your thing.

Given that nyx is due for a rework(not soon, but eventually) it makes more sense to keep her built in your foundry, and wait until you can clear a different t Warframe slot.. or just add more slots by selling prime junk/junk rivens/relics/etc to get the required plat. Honestly with how cheap slots are compared to how easy it is to trade for 20 plat, it's worth the effort. Run a few hours worth of relics, look for the people on trade chat spamming "WTB Prime junk 5 plat", and you'll be set.

I would definitely suggest that if you happen to have the prime and non prime variants of the same frame(i.e., saryn and saryn prime, Ash and Ash prime, etc) that you sell the non primed variant and keep the primed one. There's really no reason to keep non primes unless you have a specific build on each one, given that their base stats are generally superior.

Hope this helps!
