The insane flavour and Patches reference is off the carts, i dont care about how much/little this card would be played. It fits right into deathrattle and pirate rouge

Summoning [[Skycap'n Kragg]] from your deck will result into having a pirate being IN CHARGE, a.k.a pseudo Patches (pre nerf)

As a Deathrattle requiring you to kill a 0/2 and without thinning your deck. Don't think it's anywhere near as powerful as Patches is even now never mind pre-nerf.

My comment wasn't ment to be taken seriously. Just a little reference

I like the art, I like the name, and I like the effect. Just not sure if the effect fits thematically with the rest. So when the bottle breaks (the deathrattle), we're left with the ship . . . which is a 1/1 copy of a random pirate? I feel like it's close.

ItsCoolDoodOP•

At first, I was going to make it spawn a 1/1 Galleon, but instead it spawns a tiny pirate instead who's on the ship. The galleon fits more thematically, but it would have to be its own card entirely, so it's more useful having a copy of a pirate that you've already included.

Idk what the guy you responded to is on about. The theme is great. Yeah it's not a perfect analogy, but it does the job.

maybe make a 1/1 Galleon "your pirates have rush", or something like that

1
Lors2001•

Why not summon a 1/1 ship and a pirate as a 1/1 from your deck I mean there’s already 1 mana 1/1 battlecries/death rattles summon a 1/1 so you have to put in a little extra effort and because of that you get a random pirate as a 1/1 in your deck and the 1/1 ship seems balanced to me

1
lifetake•

I got this. When the death rattle happens the animation is a galleon coming in till it hits the correct minion position and then summoning the minion.

1
green_meklar•

This seems really weak. Could probably be 0 mana.

What about summon 3 1/1 pirates so it summons like a pirate army makes sense to me.

Summon 3 1/1 crew members

No pirate tribe?

ItsCoolDoodOP•

Nah, it's a bottle. It's like [[Devilsaur Egg]], the egg itself isn't actually a Beast, but the Devilsaur it spawns is.

Fair enough.

Also with a pirate tag if you had two in a deck you could have an infinitely spawning 1/1 (until you drew the second ship in a bottle)

Neat idea

I'd like it to summon a 1/1 [[ship's cannon]].

There’s something in this concept for sure, but it’s not this I feel.

1
MemeGrower•

But why is it so weak? I’m thinking over pirates you would run and it seems like the pirate could have full stats

1
BrokenMirror2010•

In standard, Captain Greenskin is the biggest problem with full stats. A 5/4 (or multiple with cards like Play Dead) on turn 2 would be pretty insane.

In wild, Skycapn' Kragg's powerlevel on t2 would be so high it would be a very real problem too wild.

1
MemeGrower•

But rogue doesn’t have cards like that. They might be able to kill it with something like cold blood, but that’s a 2 card combo that pulls another card out of your decks and can only be done once in your deck, making the other one worse while also not allowing you to draw the captain. On top of that, rogue doesn’t have play dead, and they would only be able to duplicate the effect late in the game, at which point they make have drawn it or the other ship in a bottle, making one a dead draw, plus duplicating t doesn’t even matter because you only have one captain green skin

1
BrokenMirror2010•

Prep Necrium Vial is 2 mana, isn't it?

1
Rollow•

There are much more high stated pirates in standerd

1
currentscurrents•

I think you could make it a 2/3 copy without it being crazy strong.

1
arpitduel•

I rather prefer my bottles in the ship instead.

1
Ocean_Man205•

Love the art, but what value do you get? You need to find a way to trigger the deathrattle by yourself and the value is smaller than anything.

1
MemeGrower•

That’s a 3 card 3 cost combo for like an average of 14 stats if you draw perfectly and build your deck around it and don’t draw certain cards
