Exam anxiety oh my god

So I have an exam in two days, in HL chemistry.

I've pretty much got this mental block when it comes to trusting my own calculations, but even worse; it's an oral exam.

I'm terrified 'cause I hate oral exams. There's too much emphasis on communication, you get better marks if you seem relaxed, confident and can joke a bit (in the country where I live, "we're" very social). I just am not very confident when it comes to speaking in front of people, and even less if I know they are going to judge what I'm saying.

With written exams I do absolutely fine. No anxiety, almost excited even, but orals are just not my thing. Last time I had one, I only barely passed, mostly because I became unable to speak, like I was locked up or something, froze and then tears started coming. It made for an awkward situation.

Anyways, it's in two days. I feel unprepared because I haven't had the time to study as much as I wanted (because I fall asleep, I have narcolepsy as well, and when I get stressed, the symptoms get worse). I'm just so nervous. I don't know what to do with myself and I'm afraid I'll freeze up again.

I have a plan and a very good tutor though. I'm gonna go to the exam no matter what, which is big, 'cause a few days ago I considered calling in sick to buy myself some extra time, but honestly lets face it, mostly to avoid it all together. Not gonna happen though. I tried to be okay with failing, but I'm not gonna. I'm gonna pass, be happy and then relax the whole weekend.

I guess I just had to get this off my chest.

Do any of you guys also have problems with oral exams?

I forget ALL information when it's an oral exam.

Yup. I just hate how that happens. I feel like it's a major disadvantage. Not just for people with aspergers, but I guess also for everyone else who isn't socially gifted.

Luckily my Spanish teacher realised that and so I don't think she grade me how she grades other kids. I think as long as I could eventually put together a sentence she was satisfied.

Lucky you. The chemistry course I'm doing is a 3 month course, covering 3 years of chemistry. 32 students in the class and only one teacher. She knows I have aspergers, but she's not quite aware what it is (we had a short talk at the start of the course). She's nice though, but they can't grade me if I don't speak.

Oh Jesus. I'd die in the class.
