How's ds2:deathinitive edition in terms of performance/stability these days?

I bought ds2:de 2016 iirc. I returned it after a short time due to performance/stability issues, after reading that many others had enormous problems as well. Any possibility the state of the game has been improved? After darksiders 3 I'm planning to revisit the previous titles and figured I'd inject some money into GF games so they make ds 4 :D. But I don't want to buy a busted product so just checking in with your experiences here. Edit* I'm on PC.

if youre on steam, go into the games properties, select beta, and activate public beta, that will fix archon crash...also shadows on low, never higher, thats causing crashes. i finished the game like 4 times on PC, worked perfectly each time.

There's supposedly a patch coming...but no ETA.

Running Steam version of DS2:DE right now. Primary complaint is janky camera for 1 puzzle in Kingdom of the Dead, that is not in the regular edition (I double-checked). It also crashes to desktop if I turn on damage numbers on enemies. Other than that I'm in the Demon Realm and it's ok so far but of course ymmv.

still waiting for 4K/60fps update...wich was announced to be released end of novermber...

No comment from the devs so far wtf they are doing or when the update will arrive.

to be silent is probably the worst thing a publisher can do if he can't keep his promise.

Yeah, it's looking like it's gonna be a no for X1X in terms of the Deathinitive Edition patch. Darksiders 3 is already out- you really think they're worried about 2 anymore?

'Sides, the OP was asking about the PC version anyway I believe. Anyone else get the feeling that DS2 is starting to feel like the red headed stepchild of this series?

that's pathetic but doesn't surprise me one bit. These devs have a terrible track record with this game. Especially the console version. At least pc got some fixes. Console we still dont have the option of turning off the horrible auto camera centering. Now Ds3 is out with tons of issues too. I'd go as far as to say ds2:de is the worst remaster ive ever seen.

It ran great until that 4K update. Then it ran like shit for a week or so and back to good again.

I know when I p the ayes on xbox one 2 years ago I had the problem that if to many big numbers pop up at once, the game would crash. H as opened once or twice on my first run, but was extremely consistent afterwards due to having much better gear and lvls.

I've been playing for about 40hrs the past couple of weeks. 1440p with all settings on max and it's running smoothly on my GTX 1050 2G (2160p was too much, though). I've had it crash on me 4 times in-game (once within the 1st hour, 3 during Soul Arbiter's Maze) and a handful of times when alt-tabbing.

As for glitches, I've only encountered 1: one of those balls that was supposed to drop to the floor got stuck on some rocks. It would've meant I'd need to restart completely, but luckily the save was from before the ball dropped, so alt+f4 and reload fixed that.

i just started it, but outside of some tiny lags, i had nothing worse sofar. i gotta check my quality settings and turn shadows a bit low after what i read here, but i think it's also due to the auto-save - i also had the "loading" thing more often yet, in darksiders1[warremastered] i kinda only had that 4-5 times during the whole playthrough.

Seems good enough. Gonna get it after Christmas and try it again. Cheers guys.
