Make sure you are in sudo obviously I'm sure you are doing that. You can also set the nolimit fine in systemd gui as well. Might fix it for you.
Try also changing the settings in /etc/security/limits.conf even though you're on systemd.
This ^
They word it horribly, but if you're using systemd you need to do both methods.
Oh... Ya that's not clear at all. I will also try that, thanks
Damn, didn't work
$ cat /etc/security/limits.conf | grep my-user-name
my-user-name soft nofile 1048576
my-user-name hard nofile 1048576
Did you change "my-user-name" to your actual user name?
I replaced "my-user-name" with "*" so it works with all users.
* soft nofile 1048576
* hard nofile 1048576
yes I did.
So the problem is this bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1628297
when I was checking in terminal, it is reporting the wrong value even though it is working. Thanks for the help!
