[13/10/05] '06 Oryis National Election

It had been almost four years since the first Oryis Nos election. The second would occur on the first of next year, and the candidates had begun advertising and making speeches in preparation. Many of the candidates are the same as in the last election, but some new candidates are present as well.

Evakar Nakirine

Male Flivars

Nakirine seeks to be re-elected as Premier. His platform is mostly the same, being focused on trade and cooperation with other nations. However, it has shifted focus from being more global to being more continental this season, specifically mentioning MakkheCo and Kestia. Reception towards him has been somewhat mixed; many point to his term as being largely successful, while others say that the growth experienced would have occurred with anyone as Premier, and that Nakirine did not do enough.

Aziz-Ai-K

Female Saiziski

Aziz is a returning candidate, running on the same campaign as last election. Her platform focuses on seaward expansion, taking advantage of their large aquatic population. She has garnered lots of popularity in the Saiziski, Sslruthe, and Unormu populations, but others say that she is neglecting the terrestrial population.

Estimated Support: 35%

Ach-Bagorah

Female Goratchan

The final returning candidate, Ach-Bagorah is running on a militaristic platform. She seeks to drastically expand Oryis’s military capabilities and to further relations with Kestia and the Povogon Company. While most citizens agree that a stronger military is important, many are worried that Ach-Bagorah’s aggressive temperament would make her a poor Premier.

Kurawa

Male Akkwa

Kurawa, former second-in-command aboard the First Traveller, is running on a campaign of developing orbital infrastructure. His plans include a space station, satellites, and orbital defences made possible by their unique gravity manipulators. In addition to his campaign promises, Kurawa’s connections to Captain Yptarin Krii, a well-respected individual, made him a popular candidate.

Quivian Lunde

Female Mingund

Lunde’s campaign has a focus on improving technology; both developing their own and obtaining it from others. She also seeks to solve some of Mirus’s mysteries, and to make magic accessible to the population. Support for her is low, with many saying she is too young or not experienced enough to be Premier. However, her supporters are loyal.
