Getting 24" 1080p G-sync monitor on sale
I have a 1070 ti with a ryzen 2600, so I'm sticking to 1080p and I'm not confidant my gpu will hold 144 fps for AAA games for long, so I thought it's be best to get a G- sync monitor.
The only problem is I'm completely lost!
I'm hoping to scoop up a sale so I keep an eye out at r/buildapcsales but every time one is posting there's always words of warning that the monitor has ghosting problems or some other reason to stay away.
Is this a complaint with every g-sync monitor? Is there any consensus about what brands to avoid or what brands are the most trustworthy?
Am I safe getting any g- sync monitor since they all have the same chip from nvidia?
My only real guiding principle I've heard a million times over is to avoid newegg because of their horrible return policy with dead pixels on monitors.
Are there totally "safe bets" with g sync monitors?

This is the one I'm looking at now. What should I consider before buying a "cheap" or on sale g-sync monitor?

Well I don't know about ghosting issues but those screens can backlight bleed sometimes which is based on the panel type. Here's what I did: I bought refurbished. I saved money, the monitor got sent back, tested, recertified and came in the original packaging and with warranty. It gets a lot more attention from actual humans than the new ones that come off the line so technically you're gambling a bit more with new than refurbished. I've had my 1440p Asus 165hz g sync IPS panel for over a year now with no issues.
When you say "those panels backlight bleed" did you mean all g sync monitors?
Any advice on a good place to get refurbished?
I think it's the type of panel they use for high refresh ips. I'm not sure of the technical details.
I bought mine on newegg.
Great. Thanks for the info! I'll probably avoid IPS then
No dude don't lol. The alternative is TN. IPS is waaaaay better for color. It's just the gamble you'll do. They're also more expensive.
Sorry to double message on my response but I also ordered on newegg. Their Canadian return policy isn't too bad. This might be heresy but my friend says all the panels are the same they come from the same factory it's just the bezels and logos that are different.
I did a lot of research into which brand to go with, read and watched reviews, the chance to get a dud is there with all of them and it's because of the panel type. You're more likely to get a back light bleeder than not.
