Weird Unit Move Command Behaviour
Howdy y'all...
So , I've searched the net, wiki and forums for a hint of this problem as I'm sure somebody must have seen this before:
When a unit is grouped in a locked group, you could Right Click Drag (hold and move around) and the unit would move to the new position and turn to the facing you picked.
Currently, what happens is that I get the yellow marker overlay for where they are supposed to be going, but then they just end up a big mess. If you hold Space after the move order is given, you can see that although the unit group is maintained, it is impossible to get them to face they way I picked and they end up in some random line.
For example, say I have my front line fighting, and I have a locked group of archers I want to move up and form a line behind them. I select the archers' group and then I put my cursor where I want the 'top left' corner of that group's new position to be, hold my right button and drag out the facing I want them to move to. Normally, this works just fine.
What now happens is that will seem to work, but now the archer unit won't go to that poistion. Say the front line is considered 'horizontal' the archer's group will run off and make a vertical line right through the front or some weird angle facing backwards.
This is making it extremely difficult to micro unit movement. I've tried other methods like Alt Click and Ctrl Alt Rotate which seem to have the same effect - the move order is nto followed as given and the end result is position and facing out of control. I've also noticed that when placing some units in Deployment, they will jump way right of where I clicked for them to go, even in open gorund away from borders or terrain features.
Please help. I can't figt battles like this as I effectively can't posiiton units.

My only advice for this is don't use locked groups. I never really found they are that useful anyway. I have experienced this messed up behaviour before too and i saved myself a lot of headaches but not using locked groups.
