That works, thanks. Turns out QGIS had no problem importing, it is just EXTREMELY slow at rendering PDF layers. It takes 5-10 seconds to redraw if I pan or zoom at all. The TIFF version redraws almost instantly.

Have you tried just dragging the file straight into the layers toolbar? 


I was under the impression it cant load geopdf

I want to import a georeferenced PDF from [here](http://apps.gov.bc.ca/pub/dmf-viewer/?siteid=5628311639164388216) for use as a map layer.

I tried Layer --&gt; Add Layer --&gt; Add Raster Layer, and it appears in the Layers list, but QGIS freezes up after that.

If I convert to GeoTIFF with https://mygeodata.cloud, it imports just fine.

Is there a better way to import a geoPDF directly?

I'm using QGIS 3.4.3-Madeira on Linux, if that makes any difference.
