Did anyone else notice the fact that Luke looked 10 years younger on Crait?

Everyone says “I never noticed that in the cinema” and I’m like... how?

It was literally the first thing I thought when he took down his hood and I saw that haircut. Obviously I didn’t expect the twist that he was projecting himself, but I knew something was up right from the moment I saw him.

I just don’t get how anyone could miss that? Spent 2 hours with the guy looking like a hobo and then he walks in all fresh and young... just how???

Yeah I noticed in the theaters on first viewing. Thought to myself “Looks like he had enough time to shower/shave before he showed up ‘just in time’!” Lol. I was pleasantly surprised by the force ghost twist. It’s a great movie detail!

He also enters to speak with Leia from the back (right after C-3PO said there was no way in or out that way) and later when fighting Kylo on the salt flats, he leaves no red footprints/streaks in the salt. Good movies have details like this that make it fun to watch again and again!

I hate many parts about that movie, but this part part was really good!

You’re supposed to notice it.

See I figured that but then people have said they never noticed

Really? Cause it’s not even just a haircut. He literally has no grey hairs anymore. It’s a cut and a dye job.

I saw the haircut & beard trim. I figured he was trying to look like the hero the Resistance needed (instead of his "angry homeless man" look).

When he showed up my wife whispered, "He stopped off for a haircut? "

He purposefully made himself appear younger, appearing as Kylo knew him. He was trying to agitate Kylo as much as possible.

It’s the Jedi way.

Did someone miss it? O_o

Also, that outfit he is wearing looks cool.

It was done on purpose to have maximum effect on Kylo

I was so confused during that scene, I asked one of my friends how he managed to rebuild the lightsaber, get a shave, dye his hair all in the space of like 20 mins

At first I thought he just cleaned himself up for his confrontation. Once it was revealed it was just a projection it made more sense. Luke presented himself to Kylo the way he looked the last time they met. Shorter, darker hair, trimmed beard. Even his face seemed less "mopey". He had a cockiness about him, which changed his expressions. That alone took 10 years off his appearance.

I thought that he cleaned himself up when he chose to face Kylo, rather than looking like an old washed up hermit.

Not everyone picks up on that kind of stuff

Everyone noticed it. People were just confused why he looked that way.

When you say everyone... it’s maybe not exactly everyone.

I think everyone noticed it, and the fact that he was using a lightsaber we literally just saw destroyed.

It’s interesting though cause both of these are details we picked up on but still got surprised at the twist 😂

Maybe some people thought that perhaps he took a shower and trimmed his hair and beard before travelling. /s

If deliberate, it was a risky move from Luke in case Kylo noticed his uncle hasn't aged since he left, 14 years have passed I believe.

6 years have passed

My bad, Bloodlines says it's 6 years so yeah.

You're better than everyone that's how.

Wasn’t trying to sound superior, I’m just genuinely confused as to how people missed it

The look was terrible. It looked like a bad dye job, like he was wearing a wig... Like he was some washed up lounge singer desperately clinging to their youth.

Just another terrible decision for the character that launched a franchise. He looked just fine without all the extra help. The Greyish hair and Jedi robes would've been appropriate

If you’re gonna keep whining about his character over a year later at least find something other than his hair to whine about

He looked like he was doing a commercial for Just For Men

I can go on, but your post was about the choice to make him look 10yrs younger. He didn't.
