Does OTF hire older or retired employees?

I have been to about 6 studios in 4 different states and everyone seems so young. Are there any older OTF employees at your studios?

I briefly worked at a studio a year ago and I am 62 (young person at heart). I didn’t feel comfortable selling memberships so I left to do volunteer work instead.

Good question. If they do, I'd be interested too, but also would not be a good fit in a sales position.

I've seen a bunch of people of all ages. Not really anyone over 60, but I've seen all other ages represented. The SA role seems to attract a very young demographic. Maybe it doesn't pay all that well? But the coaches are all over the map. My favorite is in her early 50s.

It doesn't pay well at all. The SAs make $10 and hour plus commission and the job is only part time. With the exception of the manager, most of ours are still in school or just graduated looking to get experience.

I've seen SAs and coaches in their late 30s or 40s. Not much older than that, however.

Honestly - they don't pay enough for an adult to live on. They seem to attract college-age employees who still go to school and work at OTF part-time. There's no way I could survive on an SA salary with no other job.

The studio I go to has a good wide range from late teens to probably 50ish

There are at the studios around here, desk staff and even several coaches in their 40s and possibly 50s.

I’ve heard at least one trainer mention her teenage son ...

Not sure if you live in the US, but if so, employers are not allowed to descriminate based on age (40+): https://www.eeoc.gov/laws/types/age.cfm

Applicable to employers with 20 or more employees. Some franchisees might have more than 20 employees if they own multiple locations but a lot probably do not.

since it's a law, it doesn't happen. lol.
