I pretty much predicted this smear, god the UK media is full of complete NPCs.

Corporate media is always predictable but damn are they still infuriating. I see it coming from days, weeks, months out depending on what it is and it still pisses me off every time.

I feel like that was the one really good thing to come out of the Trump presidency. People on both sides realized just how dishonest most mainstream media outlets are.

The right seem to think the mainstream media (except Fox) is dishonest. I wouldn’t consider that a victory. Equally, I’ve seen a few liberals expressing similar sentiment about MSNBC (recently, I saw someone talking about how Maddow was the only journalist he really trusted as well as demonising Glenn Greenwald as a paid Russian propagandist!)

Generally, I’ve seen a lot of the distrust of mainstream media just as an another expression of tribalism. I have an American friend who became a leftist after being disillusioned with Obama and he now doesn’t trust the MSM but that’s part of the normal transition to a leftist* rather than part of a cultural shift.

*Deep thanks to Noam Chomsky, naturally.

I hope you contacted their handler.

It really does come down to money and the material condition of us vs the corporate media. We can talk about these things and try to be insightful and hopefully be also doing good volunteer work outside of the internet in our local communities, but the money that the agents of the corporate media get allows them a degree of dedication that is so damn near impossible to match.

Sean O'Greedy's a weapons grade cunt, he was throwing his toys out the pram ages ago over poor kids getting free school meals at a cost of 2p a year per taxpayer.

Just when I thought I couldn’t hate him anymore... I didn’t know who he was until earlier today and I already have nothing but disdain for the man.

Nah, he’s that kind of asshole whose parents came over from Cork and immediately turned into English nationalist Tories once they bought their council house.

19
ProlificPolymathOP•

Seriously read this, it’s the prototypical distillation of the bullshit attacks on Corbyn as a warning to AOC (not patronising at all).

The_Polo_Grounds•

it’s not like there’s not more anti-Zionist Jews in Brooklyn DSA than there are Jews in all of London. He might as well try to explain how baseball works to her while he’s at it.

I just read it and it's just porn. Nothing but porn.

Even the "based gamergate mom" is attacking AOC over this lmao

Here we go...

This is perhaps AOC's first real test, is she a politician with integrity who won't fold under the first bit of pressure (that isn't coming from just the Republicans) or is she someone who can be manipulated into disowning a leftist ally by idpol tactics. If she proves to be the latter then I hate to say it but we can write her off. I hope she doesn't disappoint.

17
ProlificPolymathOP•

I sincerely hope so as well. She’s got a lot of promise but there’s a lot of temptation, I hope she doesn’t give in to it.

I'm certainly not heavily implying that US politics runs on legalised bribery that's for sure!

2
Voluptuousveronica•

Who do you suppose would be bribing AOC?

This bit reminds me of any number of posters on this "leftist" sub-

" Most American voters, I suspect, have never heard of Jeremy Corbyn, and won’t be particularly impressed that Ocasio-Cortez has picked up the endorsement of a man whose entire political career has been based on knee-jerk hostility to America "

5
galaxybrenzLenincel•

I saw someone in CTH say that it was a poorly thought out article because nobody in the US knows who Corbyn is so it won't impact AOC. Internationalism for thee, not for me.

Imagine that in America, where a massacre just took place at a Synagogue carried out by a right-winger.
