I’m running Gummi on Debian and it installs it’s own instance of TexLive which is outdated. In the preferences, you can select a typesetter command but when I select TexLive with PdfTeX, it refers to the outdated instance and I see no way to change this.
I hadn’t realised Gummi came bundled with TexLive and already had the latest installed. When I tried to use tlmgr to install a package, it gave me an error regarding the remote repository and local repository being different versions (2018<2019) and provides a script to allow cross-updating. I don’t wish to do this, I simply want to use the latest TexLive but with Gummi.
I uninstalled the new and old TexLive and then did a fresh inst
Sorry if this has been discussed, nothing turned up when I searched but I don’t like the search on the app.
Does anyone know anything about the status of the Regium chess board? The video I’d seen said to order it now but it’s not available on the website nor is there any information on a release date, expected price etc.
Anybody in the know here? Anyone familiar with the people behind it? Any information would be appreciated, I’m very excited about it!
It’s obvious there will be the usual savage attacks on the working class as well as the economic effects of Brexit but it’s much more significant than that. One of the main reasons for you guys to get Corbyn in was what it would mean long-term for your political system. The Tories have, as with the Republicans in the US, fully embraced data-driven, barefaced lying as well as flagrantly ignoring campaign finance rules plus the unbelievable media bias (I’ve been shocked by the examples I’ve seen from the BBC in how overt they’ve been — and I’ve seen the ramping up of that since Cameron left so I’m not exactly easily shocked).
Corbyn had talked about reforming the BBC, working on some solutio
Hey,
My first time posting on here (from work which I shouldn’t be but oh well...) I remember seeing a GIF/video here on Reddit where someone walks up to a fence where what seems to be a carving of an owl (to me, it’s that good at the beginning anyway) and obviously it slowly dawns on you that this is a real owl especially when it opens its eye just a tiny little bit to see if the pesky human has gone...
I haven’t been able to find it so any help would be appreciated. I tried searching here on Reddit first even messing with the search options to try to refine the results. I then tried several search engines to see if it was on there, first restricting results to Reddit where I knew it ha
I am fairly new to the Purism line and I was wondering when the latest Librem machines (v4, right?) were released. I checked the blog post announcing the latest version but there’s no date and this is true for all their posts. It would be nice to have dates so you could track the progress of the project clearly.
I wanted the date of each version in fact so I could make a guess at when the next version will be released. I plan on buying a Librem machine soon but I would hate to buy one shortly before the next version is released. Why isn’t Purism more transparent about this? Answers to any of my questions will be appreciated.

skwawkbox.org/2019/03/15/listen-horrific-anti...Hi, I’ve just heard of Purism laptops and I’ve done a little reading and I read about their partnership with Qubes on the Qubes website but then I noticed that Purism’s laptops weren’t listed on the hardware certification page...
After a little searching, I found a Purism post stating they would no longer preload Qubes but would offer installer USBs (what’s the point in that?) Why did this happen? Did the two entities have some disagreement? Their partnership seemed like an obvious, suitable choice.
I then read Joanna’s blog post on the ORWL where she states that there’s a difference in pursuing the idea of making a trustworthy PC between “taking a passive position and not progressing th

I know about meta decks and I saw a post just then asking if Blue Eyes was still meta and the response was that it’s not. What exactly stops a deck being competitive? Do they just release cards that neutralise effective decks and other cards which make new meta to keep everyone buying the cards?
It doesn’t seem like playing competitively is all that much about skill as it is repeatedly buying new cards. What I mean is, it’s not like a chess grandmaster beats a moderately skilled player because he has better pieces, right? It would
