If God doesn’t exist, then can God be everywhere?

If the universe itself is god, be this in either a conscious or automatic sense, then is not the whole system of physical laws, cause and effect, and time itself, the internal workings of a perfect divine being? Would this make God not an external being to the Universe but rather a non-personal, non-anthropomorphic and non-personified omnipresent being?

Just asking.

If you want to redefine god as air, the universe, the sum of all human minds, or whatever, why use the word ‘god’?

no.

If God doesn't exist, then can God be everywhere?

How could something nonexistent be anywhere?

If the universe itself is god

Why would you think the universe is a "god"?

How does "being" somehow end up in that equation?

A contradiction in terms.

Genius.

Wooooooooo.

The universe means something. God means something. They don't mean the same thing.

I have a name for the universe. It's "universe". It has a common understanding that aids in communication.

You are adding something to the universe. Justify it or go away.

No you can't redefine god into existence.

Another let's define god into existence thread.

And what would be the point of pretending that matters?

We look at the universe and we describe what we see. Science is a set of methods and mental tools to try and remove our bias from that observation.

And so far, when we look at the universe, we don't see anything that suggests it's anything other than what it appears to be: a vast emptiness with some fundamental forces and a double handful of particles.

You can't just redefine things as 'god' and then ask 'well what if?', because knowledge doesn't work like that.

What do you mean by “the universe itself”? Do you mean the constantly changing collection of material space-time events, or something more along the lines of “eternal existence itself”?

No the universe is simply the universe

No_DareAgnostic•

Yes. The universe made us. We are part of the universe.

Well, energy should be close to what you are looking for. Remember that matter is a form of energy too, basically everything in the universe is energy.

But, energy doesn't fit into any god concept, since there's nothing like a personality, which also entails a complete lack of will, ethical rules, the ability to listen to prayers or the need to be admired / worshiped.

If so then God watches a lot of gay porn (and killing and raping but most religions accept that). Your premise is flawed though... god being the universe goes against every religion I've ever heard of and therefore it's just the universe and further proof one doesn't exist.

I didn’t have a premise. It was a thought exercise. I enjoy hearing others thoughts and viewpoints.

The entity you are describing sounds a lot like the Dao.

I'm not hearing anything in your description of "god" that has the capacity to get angry about people masturbating, or answer anyone's prayers.

No.

There is absolutely nothing in Big Bang math to point to any creator or predefined plan.

On the contrary, The Uncertainty Principle mandates it is very random.
