Building my first PC this week - questions

Hi guys, I'm building my first PC this week and I already have the parts.

Build:

1Corsair HX750 Platinum 750W Power Supply

Gigabyte B450 AORUS M Motherboard

AMD Ryzen 5 2600 with Wraith Stealth

Samsung 860 EVO 2.5in SATA SSD 250GB

Samsung 860 EVO 2.5in SATA SSD 1TB

Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2A2400C16 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 Black

Gigabyte Radeon RX 580 Gaming 8GB

Phanteks Eclipse P300 Tempered Glass Black/Red

Thermaltake Riing 120mm RGB Fan 3 Pack with Controller

I'm worried that I am going to wreck something though even though I have watched a lot of videos, so I have some questions-

  1. I'm worried that I am going to wreck the CPU chip, does any have any installation advice for my particular CPU and cooler or are they all the same? do the Ryzen chips have the shape to line my chip up with so I know I lock it down in the correct position?
  2. If my cooler has pre applied thermal paste I don't need to add any more, right?
  3. If I plug the psu cables into the wrong slot will it fry the board?
  4. Once I get it up and going do I need to configure much in the BIOS or will it configure that itself?
  5. Any other last minute tips please?

Thank you

Listen here young buck

  1. Follow tutorials on how install you cooler and the ryzen chip will have the triangle and gently drop on the board

  2. If it already applied then you are good don’t add anything else

  3. Every cable have it own label on them so read them, and if you are unsure then watch building pc tutorial. I’m not sure about your board will get fried sooo be smart

  4. The bios will not upload itself, so get your usb download the latest bios for your Mobo and then plug in, reboot, go to the Mobo bios, select your the your usb then download or just the video there tons of it.

  5. Be gentle and you can only little bit of force if you need to. You will be fine, you can following along with pc build guide on YouTube and also patient.

  1. There is an arrow on the corner of the chip and mobo. Make.sure they line up. My cpu slippes out of my hand when putting it in and fell right in place !!!! Make sure u pull the lil lever beside the cpu slot in ur mobo so the chip sits in. I forgot to pull mine up!!!!
  2. I left the paste on and added a lil to the cpu. No issues.
  3. U cant really screw up plugging in cables. There all labeled. The big 24 pin is mobo. Cpu plug says cpu. Pci is video.card. and hdds and such is pretty easy.
  4. Shouldnt need to do anything to bios. U can check for an update if u want. But if the pc runs fine leave it.
  5. Enjoy every second. It goes quick :(

If you want my advice. Buy a HDD. Pagefiles absolutely kill the endurance on SSD's and its better to not have to disable them even if you think you have enough RAM to not use one.

So you mean buy a hdd and move that page file over from my Windows folder on the ssd?

Yeah, one time I had the pagefile activated on my ssd (windows update turned it on) it used 15 TBW in 3 days. The drive has a 200TBW endurance
