Where do you go for information, news, articles?

Do you have any recco's for good useful fitness/lifting/nutrition related content?

Something that falls in between full-on academic journal articles but not "Top 10 Ways to Burn Fat", endless listicles, or other nonsense.

RP Fitness has a mit of great articles by Mike Istrael.

Bret Contreras has a lot of articles by him and other fitness experts. He posts his peer-review articles published in journals.

r/advancedfitness examine published studies and what it means for fitness.

Jeff Nippard on YouTube does his kinda of own meta analysis of studies.

PictureFit on YouTube is the same.

T-Nation!!!!!!! They do try to push their supplements and shit in your face sometimes BUT they provide SUPER informational articles for basically anything you can think of with solid scientific based evidence and whatnot. It is exactly a website that falls in the in-between!

I am guilty of attending the YouTube-University. But I try to filter the information. If people use buzz words like detox and try to sell spot reduction or quick fixes, I stop reading/listening. If I want to know more details on a topic, I try to find publications from academic professionals, but dumbed down.

For some things like exercise plans, I consult books or ebooks. And I avoid talking to people about that, because there is so much information out there and a lot of that is just urban legends.

YouTube is fantastic if you can wade through all the nonsense.

I trust Mike Matthews. He's the author of Thinner, Leaner, Stronger and does regular podcasts and articles through his Muscle For Life brand. Also has a brand of supplements, Legion, but it's never pushy and cuts through the BS. Love him.

jesus, getting good legit info on supps is WORK. I don't take any right now. Not because I'm opposed to any. I'm all about them. It's because I don't trust anything anyone tells me about them!

There’s a lot of fear mongering on health-centered blogs, even when someone isn’t paid by a sponsor, it’s in their best interest to scare you as much as possible so you keep clicking and tell all your friends that lyme disease or dental fillings or adrenal fatigue is causing all your health issues

I think we're talking about different supps.

I follow a lot of fitness influencers on instagram! Some of my favorites are powerphysique, vikstrong, fitgurlmel, and strengthcoachtherapy.

Very much appreciate that there's POC in your list. I'm honestly desperate to see more people that I can relate to in fitness land.

I watch for stuff that gets posted to r/weightroom. It's usually pretty good (at least for lifting), and if it's not then you'll know because the comments tear it apart.
