Rugged, Small, Inexpensive CANopen PLC?

Does anyone have a suggestion for an inexpensive but rugged PLC capable of CANopen master communications out of the box? I am designing a CANopen based electric vehicle conversion and I need it as a master alarm handler, a safety device as a backup to individual component safeties (in the event that a BMS fails to open it's DC contactor, for example) , as well as a data aggregator and interface to the infotainment system / HMI. It need not be particularly fast but it should be well-sealed and preferably use open authoring software or software I can obtain inexpensively. Microcontroller-based approaches are acceptable but something that programs in CODESYS or something IEC 61131-ish is preferable.

The best solution I can find so far is a Raspberry PI in a potted and sealed enclosure, but i'm sure better solutions exist.

[EDIT] I should also mention this is a personal project and not a product for use by the general public, so I am OK with a certain latitude as far as using devices certified to be fit for purpose to industry standards because I know those type of standards are expensive to obtain and any product I could get inexpensively might not be SIL2 rated, for example.

Almost certainly out of your price range but the Bedrock OSA Remote is everything you are looking for. PM me for more info.

I have had some curiosity about Bedrock stuff for a while now, seems like you guys are the only ones really taking security seriously in the PLC world. I hate to PM because it always annoys me seeing PMs in other threads and not having the information. I see some press release stuff in google searches that puts starting price around $2900-ish. No need to sharpen the pencil any further than that, but is that in the ballpark?

Yep, I'm no sales person so I don't know what the real price would be, but that's probably pretty close.

IFM ecomat controllers might be a good choice. CAN support, CODESYS development, and the base model starts around $300. A more robust model is available in the $600 range.

Wow, this looks fantastic! thanks.

Are you kidding me.... https://www.ifm.com/us/en/product/CR3020

This is an automotive format relay with CANopen interface...FOR 70 BUCKS, I have been looking for something like this forever, this is amazing.

Way too expensive, but this is what you would use if going into production for low volume vehicles.

Affordable option would be the CP1381. The cheapest option would be the CP0291 in the BB27 base for CAN.

B&R has J1939 communication libraries if that's what you're going to be doing.

I'm not a CANopen guy but I'm pretty sure we've used a Schneider M241 for CANOpen projects in the past. Quick Google search shows them around $400-$500.
