Hex pattern is the most efficient, so it's seen in bee hives and other places -- as we mildly disgustingly see here.

Mildly interesting but whatever it is on is extremely disgusting.
Yeah. I have no idea. Lived here for almost five years, and I finally decided to test the overflow drain. Zero drainage, so I take a peek, and whatever is in there has been growing/accumulating for years, and is disgustingly hard. These bubbles showed up after I rinsed out round two of Drano
