Hi guys,

Super novice here, so I apologize if my Q at the end is dumb.

I recently picked up a tiny Vox MV50 amp head, and I managed to wire up a 1/4 input jack into an old speaker I had. Really straight forward. Success!

This got me thinking - I have a combo FrankenAmp right now where I like the speaker, and was thinking of wiring a similar setup into this amp (so it would have a separate input jack for the new Vox amp, and it would go directly into the speaker. Lots of room inside to do it).

I could do it like this with no guidance, but I'd have to manually disconnect the speaker wires from the existing amp and connect the "new" speaker wires every time I wanted to switch. I mean, i

Hi,

Sorry if this question has been asked and answered repeatedly, my searching and googling hasn't gotten me an answer.

So my question is, if I found a USB-C wall "brick" that put out enough watts, could I power my traditional AC-adaptor laptop with it?

Info/Context:

I recently got an entry-level MSI gaming laptop, and it came with a traditional AC power adaptor + power brick. My work laptop is a Lenovo, and can be powered with a USB-C charger (my phone charger and Switch charger will slow charge it). I really liked travelling with it, as I already had a charger for it due to my phone/Switch.

This got me wondering if I could power my MSI laptop with a USB-C charger. I'd love to

Hi sub-reddit,

Just wondering if anyone has handled both the Nikon Df and Nikon Zfc, and what your thoughts are when comparing the two?

Some background from me. Just an enthusiast, not looking to do anything pro, but I like taking good pictures.

I've had a DSLR for 15ish(?) years. Started out with Pentax, still have my old K-5 and K-01 and lots of decent glass for it. I love the form factor of both cameras, the pictures they take, as well as their small lenses. They just suck once things start moving and the light isn't perfect. Pentax auto-focus from that era is garbage (and I hear still is?), and I wasn't terribly happy with the high ISO performance. I eventually splurged on a

Hi all. Just getting back into cards, am fairly un-knowledgeable, and am mainly buying "older" single cards off Ebay. I'm not terribly interested in breaking boxes or chasing hot rookies, and I was thinking about getting a Beckett print guide for prices.

The main reason I am asking about this is because I got into a mini bidding war (for lack of a better term) for a couple of cards I just thought were cool, and didn't really understand why I was getting bid up. I did a little research on the sets and it gave me a bit of insight, the sets were relatively expensive buys! But the Ebay sell listings were pretty bare for what I was bidding on. I ended up getting one card, and skipping the o

My specific problem is when I'm using the SN30 Pro to play SNES on my PC. I'm running into a weird issue where the controller will suddenly either be non-responsive (IE no inputs are registered. Which can be seen on SNES9x), or be stuck in whatever direction I was pressing, until I simply click on the screen (either into the input selection, or on another window). After this super quick "reset", the controller will then work great for anywhere from a few seconds to 5+ minutes, and then I'll have to "reset" it again by clicking the a different window or something again. It definitely seems to be tied to the D-Pad. But I'm not sure.

Some additional info.

Hey guys,

I'm trying to track down a Gameboy color game (Heroes of Might and Magic II if it matters) and my local game stores, pawn shops, craigslist etc. don't have it. The only thing I can find on Ebay is a sealed copy for over $200, or loose PAL versions (Neither of which I want, I just want the cart to play on my GBC :P). I also tried to look up some online "retro" game vendors and they didn't seem to have it either. So my question is, what does the Gamecollecting subreddit do when they can't seem to find a game?!

I figured this would be the place to ask. As an aside, I'm not really a game collector, but do still have all my old games :P

Hey guys,

Been thinking about picking up a used Wii U from the local classifieds since the prices seem pretty reasonable. One thing I noticed was that a lot of the Wii U games bundled with these systems are digital only (ie, no hard copy). This got me thinking, is there any potential risk that some a-hole could sell me a WiiU loaded with legit digital games, and somehow get them stripped off my Wii U? Also, while I'm asking questions, is there anything else I should be looking for when browsing for used Wii U systems that may not be obvious?

As an aside, I understand this is is probably a VERY minor possibility, but I seem to recall there is a way to get your digital 3DS games back if

Hi guys,

I've never really done any electrical work before (replaced the odd cord or fixed the odd gizmo here and there), and I'm tackling my first electrical repairs in my house. I was hoping to get some input from you redditors with respect to a three way switch. I THINK I have it figured out, but who knows :)

Anyways, some background. I live in Alberta, Canada, my house was built in the 50s, and I have copper wiring. My problem is a light fixture containing three bulbs which doesn't work (it's inside at my backdoor). I've been in the house for about three years, and the light has randomly worked at times - maybe three times for an hour or so at each time. I

  • Country of purchase: Canada

  • Budget range: $1000 CDN (preferred max) - $1400 (absolute max)

  • Purpose (netbook, ultraportable, mainstream, gaming, desktop replacement, etc.): Decent, smaller laptop. So mainstream I guess?

  • Screen size preference: 13.3"-ish preferred, 15.6" max

  • OS preference (Windows/Mac/Linux): Windows

  • Gaming requirements (list example games and desired fps/settings): Not an avid gamer, but like having the option to run newer games at med settings currently (IE Fallout 4 at med settings if possible? Not required though. I haven't even looked at what it would take to run Fallout 4 at Med :P)

  • Other performance requirements (video editing, CAD, etc.): Laptop
