Jailing these fucks after the fact doesn't help the victims much though.
What would be really nice is some preventative action aimed squarely at the communities disproportionately involved in perpetrating crimes of this nature.
What helps with that is not being shouted down every time you open your mouth, and not pretending like this could just be anyone, every single time, when every single time isn't just anybody, but disproportionately people of the same background.
