With the VAR penalty too, brutal.
I find it happens at an unrealistically high rate in game though. But it definitely happens
This is because the sheer volume of games that are played in FM compared to real life
thats not really fair, PSG only had 4 shots on target and man utd had 4 shots on target, do shots matter if they all go flying over the crossbar?
I was referring to the possession:goals ratio
It's actually funny when people post games like that on here and complain about it. If you have a ton of possession and do nothing with it, you can't really complain. The real "getting FMed" games are when you have 15 clear cut chances to the other team's 1.
Thereโs a difference between getting FMโd and getting Oleโd
Your getting Emery'd though this sunday
Agreed. Clear cut chances stat (or xG) is the true measure of quality in a single match. A team can simply have less possession by design. I loathe having multiple shots, very few on target with barely a clear cut chance; it reeks of desperation.
I say, the most technically gifted teams over the course of the season will have the highest goal difference. But the ones with a perfect balance of technical and mental attributes win the league.
oh i guess i always set up my team for possession ball, but ive always wanted to do a top tier team that counter attacks
Of course they do. Just because a shot goes wide doesn't mean it was a bad shot or not a great opportunity. Sometimes shit happens. If you're being outpossessed and outshot 3 to 1 then it means something lmao.
That doesn't mean PSG were world beaters today, far from it. But football is a game of chances. The more you create, the more likely you are to hit on something. 20 shots is inherently valuable, even if 15 go wide.
Same with this Rashford free kick, classic FM
And Dalotโs lofted through-ball to Mbappe when he wasnโt even under any pressure
Or Mbappeโs blown chance at 83. Who would believe that a world class attacking player could be through one on one and then just trip over themselves?
For once FM is more realistic than real life itself
To be honest, PSG played like donkey dick and so did united. But united were able to capitalize on psgs mistakes. Yes PSG got fucked big time by that penalty but they should of put the game to bed way before that.
Penalty wasn't that bad of a decision. It's a perfectly valid interpretation of an extremely vague rule.
It was a very harsh interpretation in the context of the game. I donโt necessarily blame the ref, more so the rule itself. Its insane that the rules expect defenders to dodge shots blasted at them from 5 yards away. The craziest thing about it is that in order to do so, the defender would have to basically put his hands in an unnatural position to avoid getting hit, ironic huh. The worst part about it was that the shot wasnt even going on target, it it didnt hit his hand, nothing would come of it.
I think I disagree on that. It's not like it was blasted without his knowing, everyone in the stadium knew what was going to happen, and he chose to charge the ball down and jump up, making himself as big as possible. Partially by using his arms. It is natural to do that when jumping with power, but many defenders will block shots with their arms behind their backs so as to prevent this exact situation. If you make yourself big, and use your arms in the process, and your arm blocks the ball...you're asking the referee to make a decision and it's better to avoid that.
In this specific scenario though, what makes me think it's a fair call (although a harsh one), is that Kimpembe not only jumped but did a complete 180 during the block attempt. It's natural for your arms to flail when you do that, but no defender is ever supposed to turn their back to the ball like that. So if you make that boneheaded decision and your arm catches the ball...well, I find it hard to say it's not his fault.
Agreed on the shot though. I think if we're going to have VAR for handballs, we need to start considering trajectory of the ball. Kind of like LBW decisions in cricket.
Actually i agree with what you are saying. Ferdinand said it after the game, the right thing for Kimpembe to do was to stand his ground, be brave and take the hit from the ball head on.. take it in the face if necessary. But i guess not everyone wants to get hit in the face and unfortunately it cost him the game. I still think its a very very harsh call and another ref could of gave it the other way. Regardless, PSG should not have been depending on one penalty when they went into the game 2-0 up and playing at home.
they jus dun't do good rainball, git my slim, mr.?
The fucked up back pass like a minute in gave me ptsd. Fuck this game so much
12 total shots compared to 5. I remember having 27 total shots to 2 total shots. I lost 2-0.
Amazing result. PSG can fuck right off with their oil money.
PSG just got Mourinho'd
Ole doing a Mourinho > Mourinho doing a Mourinho
Pretty accurate
PSG is a plastic club with no history.
Hi. This submission has been removed as we do not allow "FM IRL" posts anymore.
The reasoning for this decision can be found here: https://redd.it/8vbcd8
I thought the "real life FM" posts were banned from this sub?
Too๐คmany ๐คshots๐onโtarget๐
I thought FM IRL posts were banned?
Yeah PSG just got FMโd
Real Madrid got FM'd too
No, Real Madrid got beaten by a team that played better
Statistically these results only happen in fm after reloading a game a few times
