I know how to cook rice in a pan on the stovetop and can do so without any real effort. I still own a rice cooker and use it for cooking rice.

Got my mother this rice cooker / all in one thing and she swears by it every time she uses it. Apparently it's really good.

This is called a sauce pan and it is what I would use to cook rice.
Cooking pots are generally much bigger and I’m not cooking for an army or an Asian family here.

Honestly, some of the stuff mirrored some things posted here, but there was also some seriously depressing / self unaware stuff as well. It's cool a lot of the people there try to be supportive of each other and I appreciate that, but there is also a lot of self loathing going on for some.

i liked myself more in my 30s, and people liked me a lot more than in my 20s.
and for some reason this was even more true in my 40s.
i know it's gonna stop at some point, but i really can't complain about it.
