Bit of a tangent post. Trying to figure something out.
I'm building a new PC and I'm trying to decide on a Wi-Fi/internet option. I'm looking at PCI-E cards and got started thinking would a PCI-E card be the best option or would I maybe get better speeds by using a spare router as a bridge and running Ethernet from it to the wired connection on the back?
I feel like this might not be the right board to ask this on, but I don't know where else to try. PC building seemed like the closest subreddit for this kind of question.

Gigabyte and Asus both make affordable WiFi options that support AC standards, have bluetooth as well, and come with relocatable antennas. These are going to give you fairly solid performance in most scenarios as long as you have halfway decent signal strength.
You may also want to consider powerline ethernet. This uses your homes existing electrical outlets. When it works, it's generally more stable and reliable than wifi. However, it doesn't work in every home, so if you go this route, purchase from someone with a good return policy in case it doesn't work in your home.
Yeah that Gigabyte card was actually one of the main ones I was looking at. Looks like a great card for the price.
