I predicted my own death, and saved my life

For context I live in a northern Canadian city where we are experiencing sub zero temperatures atm. Me and my pals were at the pub and I had one to many draughts, I was still coherent but not quite all there. I have extremely sparse memory of the night however apparently around 1:30pm I got up unannounced and left towards the entrance. One of the friends who i was came out and followed me.

Now this is the really weird part as I can't quite recall it, and I would never usually say anything like this because it doesn't naturally reflect who I am or my state of mind. I told my friend "I feel like I'm dead, and I can't even see my own future right now". He then started directing me towards his home which was a relatively short distance home and was able to change my mood into something a little more light. We got to his house and immediately he slumped over on the couch and closed his eyes.

Now this is the part I can't get over and feel like I nearly died. For some reason I felt compelled to go home that night and so nearly at 2 in the morning I put my shoes on and went out the garage and started walking towards my house which was across the city. I fell a few times before even leaving his driveway and was in no condition to get home. Then suddenly my friend appears and literally explains to me if i try and walk home I will fall over one time and I won't get back up, because I'll be to tired and want to sleep and then freeze to death.

Now I listened and stay the night at his place. In fact i don't even recall most of this happening and got most of the facts straight through him. Now Im not suicidal by any means. However when i first heard the story from him i never made the connection between me saying "I feel like I'm dead, and I can't even see my own future right now" and it actually saving my life. However my friend told me that when I told him that after leaving the bar he was being extra careful about watching me that night and he came to the conclusion before I even did, that if i hadn't said those words outside the bar he would have been watchful over me and may not have caught me or heard me leaving through the door.

Anyways I was hoping I could hear your guys opinions and take on the story maybe even a possible explanation of what happened that night. My friend believes it was something spiritual that happened in order to protect me somewhat. I had a more conservative view that perhaps my subconscious mind predicted the course of actions my drunken self was going to take that night and so I was compelled to say "I feel like I'm dead, and I can't even see my own future right now" in order to make my friend more attentive. But realistically I think it was perhaps a mix of the two.

Whos to say the subconscious mind was or isn’t your higher self/spirit. We don’t really know that much about the subconscious so it very well could be spiritual.

Ya I definitely think that's a possibility, perhaps there's some connection between he higher self and subconscious mind that manifested.

It's hard to tell in this case so I'll explain with some local beliefs (not actually local but probably more used here so). When we use substances, we get more open to outside stuff. This includes not only thoughts but entities, since places for drinking are said to be of a lower energy, the more common ones are like craving for alcohol. Anyway, in my opinion you got some bad entity, your energy/mood lowered and you feel like that. Luckily you said something, maybe it was one of your guardians advising, maybe it was random, maybe it was destiny. Glad it ended well.

Edit: this is an answer to the main message, but I'm writing it here in order to follow the "sprits" thread.

If you keep aware about spiritual/special/wierd daily stuff, you'll end up meeting someone who can see those "spirits", and they know they can see them, so sometimes they talk to them.

This sounds very spiritualy romantic, doesn't it? Now imagine your 4 year-old-daughter telling you once and again that there's someone dressed like an old-timer looking at her all the time, "there", and you see nothing. She describes him and it sounds creepy AF. The guy eventualy comes talk to her. So the girl starts talking uncomfortably with the creepy guy. As far as I know, that girl is 10 by now and she's still under medication, which was the only thing her mother found could stop the visions.

I know a couple more cases, both women, they luckily got that "sense" activated when they were older which allowed them to act on their own. Both are very discreet about it and don't really enjoy talking about it with new people: having a sarcastic skeptical person ridiculing your half-lifetime criteria for believing that the people you've been talking to actually exists..

So yep, it seems like spirits are there, lots of them with carvings that they seem to need to feel through other humans who are also covering their crap by fulfilling carvings. Dangerous stuff, specialy for sensitive people who already feel wrong. Marihuana seems to open the doors wide open too. Maybe one day we'll find some kind of relation between spirits/entities and mental illness, because marihuana sure buys tickets for both loteries. Words from a user, BTW.

Yes! Thank you for this. It also seems pretty random how people connect with the spiritual, I know a guy that sees like dots of light while other sees people but in a zombie vibe. My coworker only see craving spirits in dreams or visions but feels them at the place. In Portuguese these are called espíritos obsessores (obsessive spirits). Another not so common belief is that some mental illness are actually lack of mediumship development. If you learn how to control it, the obsessive ones will not be able to harm and your guides will be closer. I believe this is somehow connected to shamanic sickness too, but seems like another level.

I agree that maybe your subconscious already knew what was going to happen, so you said those words that your friend would look out for you. I don't know cool story tho hope your feeling better!

Thank you for sharing your experience! My personal theory is your Spiritual guides sent out the messages to save your life. Your friend was part of that process. (had an NDE years ago and was shown how a lot of this works) You listened and responded! The key is to really absorb HOW that communication/process worked so when it happens again..you will recognize it and act accordingly. It might save your life again...or put you on a new path that will lead to some great outcomes in your life.

Your friend is right! From what I was shown we ALL have ONE guide who's sole job is to keep us from "checking out" too soon. (Be it self inflicted or by accident) They work by sending us messages to sending messages to people around us. (close to us or perfect strangers) Your Soul mapped out your life and what you wanted to learn this time around. The "life-guide-guardian" knows what you planned out and honors what you asked so you can complete your experience with ever area completed. Free will is paramount.

I had this happen to me years ago. I was driving north bound on 101 in California at 2AM. A voice said "move over to the other lane" I was shocked..and said outloud "What?!?!" The voice repeated itself. So..I changed lanes to the slow lane. Soon as I did a car going a good 100 MPH ZIPPED past me going the WRONG way (South bound) I pulled over and called the police. (No cells back then) They said they had been trying to figure out where this guy was. (Drunk driver going wrong way) Ever since I can now recognize that same feeling. It has saved me a number of times.
