Dissident vlogs
This year I've noticed a huge boom in dissident Mandarin vlogs.

Almost overnight, they've grown to be the most viewed Mandarin language channels on youtube, with consistent 50-200k hits per video, and videos being released by most of these channels on an almost daily basis. Most of the viewers according to the comments are mainland Chinese or overseas students, with some Taiwanese.
I haven't went back to China for 5 years, but those of you who are still there (native born and expats), have you noticed a shift in attitude by locals to CCP in the last few months?
The thing that surprised me most about these videos is the uniformly positive reactions of the voters and commenters to these vlogs. Sure, there must be some self-selection going on (VPN is mostly used by middle class people), but I never expected the CCP to have almost no defenders.

Style wise they seem very similar to what you get in the mainland. I haven't watched long enough to get a decent grasp on their politics. Are any of them espousing anything out of the ordinary? the clips I watched in the last 5 mins seemed like they were just giving basic information about the BRI or Chinese history/society.
As for your question about the CCP I've noticed a few people that seem pissed off at the situation but hard to say where that's being directed blame wise. Will they paint the west or their own leaders as the bad guys if things get worse? It just depends on how well the government manages the media. My money is on the imperialist dogs getting it in the neck though.
They're being extremely direct. Like Falun Gong levels of direct. They're criticizing the founding myths of the CCP and calling the CCP's growth numbers fake among other things. There were people in my childhood who posted blogs about the Gang of Four, Cultural Revolution, Chongqing Earthquake coverup, SARS, etc. but nothing this sacrilegious.
Alright thanks I'll give it a closer look, anyone you think makes a particularly good point?
How so? I've only really heard of them as some sort of yoga group which destroyed for being too successful/threatening, but never understood why they were threatening. What were they doing politically?
Ah, they run news outlets (Minghui, epoch times, New Tang Dynasty) which are very well funded and extremely critical of the CCP.
