Can I permanently download all the games I've bought on Steam, in case I want to delete my account?

Question

I just want to know if there is any way of doing this, as I don't want to support Steam anymore but do want to keep the games I bought. Anyone knows?

You can download all your games But since they're linked to a license that you have thru steam, if you delete your acc, you cant play the games unless you crack them

You dont own the game, just the license to play it

Playing games you already purchased using Steam isn't supporting Steam. If you want to boycott Steam, just don't buy any more games on there.

Fair enough.

You can play the games in offline mode and after a month you need to login, otherwise the games get unplayable. This is part of DRM. If you delete your account, all games should become unplayable.

In General. However...

There are some games out there which work without Steam, even if you downloaded them through Steam. You can try it out, go to the directory of the game and start the game there. Online games most likely don't work, but on offline games you might have luck. You may have more luck with Indie games then Triple A games.

I'll try that, thanks a lot for the input!

Thats the spirit of my young boy. :D hehe joking around

If you try, tell us here your results if you want. It would be great if there was a database outside with this specific information.

What did valve do for you to make this decision? The answer is that the wast majority of games will refuse to launch without steam running, and logged into an account that owns said appid.

You need to re-read Steam Agreement. You don't own anything you buy on Steam, you "subscribe" to it.

the rights to access and/or use any Contents and Services accessible through Steam are referred to in this Agreement as "Subscriptions."

Haha you clearly didn't read Steam's Terms of Use otherwise you wouldn't ask such a question.

Couldn't expect any less mature response from you to be honest.

I could have called you poopy face, that would have been less mature. I was just emulating your level of emotional development to facilitate communication as you didn't seem capable of rational discourse.
