It's a guitar centre. They could care less. You won't be a repeat customer and they probably couldn't bother themselves with learning the basics. Sorry to hear. I'll always go with AliExpress, Linsoul, or Amazon.
Even the local hifi places in my area don't sell the shures, only CA stuff.

Yeah, some people just dont bother doing their research first. If the suggestions up top dont seem good there is r/AVexchange though you just gotta get lucky and hope someone is selling the shures you want

So, I went to my local Guitar Center as it’s the only place within 100 miles that had the Shure IEMs I was looking for. Stupid of me. I was gonna buy them until the salesperson started telling me outright lies. The best examples are that “two drivers means twice as good...huh?...yes, ALWAYS” and “there is no reason to demo them since any two earbuds with the same frequency range will sound exactly the same”.
This made me mad and I just walked out. The worst thing is that I could tell he knew he was spouting nonsense and didn’t care cause he thought it would get him a sale.
He saved you from wasting money on Shure.

They make good mics and terrible headphones/IEMs.
Find the cheapest dual driver and the most expensive single driver and ask him which one is better. Watch as he struggles between earning that extra commission or to contradict himself

Surprisingly the most knowledgeable sales guy I've seen was in one of those inmotion airport stores. He saw me with my Note 9 and MMCX IEMs and recommended a cable with a built in DAC for better matched output impedance. I was like damn thanks for the recommendation but I've got customs coming with the 2 pin connector. He was like oh gotcha we don't have a DAC for that but lemme get you some new tips. I was seriously impressed.
Now those fools at Best Buy and Guitar Center... That's another story Jesus they're horrible
