Anyone want to split some servers with me? (colocated)

Discussion

Hey all,

I've got a few personal hypervisors in Canada (East), EU (Germany, Switzerland). I was wondering if anyone would be interested in splitting them with me? Each host has 64GB DDR4 memory, /24 subnet, and 20TB of storage. I only have a need personally for /28 subnet on each host, 20GB of memory, and 5TB of storage. So I thought I'd ask here if anyone wants to split up the server into a shared hypervisor?

Right now, they're bare metal with libvirt + lxc installed, I could install proxmox or similar, and make user accts with restricted perms to only manage their own VMs (or another hypervisor/panel). Each server has 2Gbit unmetered bandwidth, and connected to 6 internet exchange points with dozens of peers (including Google, Cloudflare, HE, etc).

Is anyone interested in splitting this up? Depending on how many people are interested, we could divide subnet into /29's or greater, and you are free to do whatever you wish (within the law) with your part of it.

I think the issue here is trusting a random stranger with one's infrastructure. Additionally, it might be hard to compete with VPS instances in the cloud price-wise.

You're right, it's hard to compete with VPS instances, but I've got no interested in competing. If you can find someone offering up to 32GB memory, dedicated CPUs, 2Gbit base port speed, for under 40eur per month, with resources you can burst 24x7x365, and dedicated ips - then that's about my price I charge

There’s still a trust issue ....
