Eden(raid) music speculation.

[Discussion]

So with Eden going to be the raid in Shadowbringers and SE adding a lot stuff from FFVIII I'm going to assume Eden isn't going to be any different and it's going to be based off the GF Eden from VIII with a XIV twist. For me at least music has played a big part of the raids in XIV and i enjoy them so much more when the music is good. Omega was very lackluster not only in fights but in music as well after following on from the excellent Alexander raid music.

Could be a little too "trancey" for XIV but it would be nice to see it in the raid some where.

I personally liked the remixed FF5 and FF6 music in Omega. Especially the Piano solo bit of The Decisive Battle in Sigmascape. They did an amazing job remixing Dancing Mad too imo.

And the most likely candidates if it's an FF8 themed raid are remixes of the battle theme, boss theme, Maybe I'm a Lion and The Extreme.

Also that Man with the Machine Gun remix I'm sorry sounds godawful and imo is an insult to the song itself.

I think it would sound more likethe black mages version. In fact when I first did sigmascape I thought they'd used the black mages version of a battle decisive, but the BLM version has a different intro and has more guitar work

its always The man with the machine gun... that is always the song people think about when they think VIII. while i do think its a good track, i think it is overrated as all hell.

The Landing or The Extreme are so so so so much better. and it would have a more hype-as-fuck feel to it.

Holy shit dude I was already super excited for Shadowbringers but if you’re telling me Soken gets a crack at FF8 music, I just might explode. Or cry. Or something. Please I never knew I needed something so bad.

Well we dont know much about what the raid tier will be. Outside of it is about restoring the elements to the first and Nomura is designing the characters and bosses for the raid series. Nomura also was the character designer for ff8. And a lady who looks like to me a goth rinoa named gaia will be joining us. The artwork for eden looks like the timeless wasteland at the end of ff8 before rinoa and squall find eachother and time is restored to the wasteland and the world returns to normal.

Soken may for the normal boss theme do what he did with coil and Alexander and make a static boss theme that will be used throughout all the fights. And then for the important fights give them their own unique theme sometimes using motifs or lyrics from the previous boss theme. Every raid tier so far the name of it has been an indication of who the final boss is. Coils of bahamut. We fought bahamut. Alexander. Alexander. Omega the interdimensional rift. Omega. and now Eden. So we may see a ff14 version of Eden from FF8 maybe force your way or maybe I'm a lion will be remixed or their motifs used in eden's boss themes like how in omega God a small motif of the ff5 battle theme can be heard.

Theres also the idea maybe ultimecia will make an appearance and maybe we will get to hear the extreme fighting her.

Perhaps Gaia is possessed by ultimecia? I don't remember much about ff8 but I do remember that at certain points ultimecia is able to possess edea and rinoa, perhaps during the msq she starts as an enemy that we end up freeing from ultimecia. The name Gaia makes me think she might have a connection to eden at least
