6.02

Went to launch the game and started downloading 6.02 update. Did a search on official site / google / sub and haven't gotten a hit yet. Anyone know what is being changed?

EDIT: Got a note about an update to limited bounties. Not sure if there are other changes or not.

Fixed a bug where multiple players attacking with Spread Ammo 3 in their Heavy Bowguns could potentially crash the game while on Zorah Magdaros.

Aka Glutton HBGs so powerful they crash the game

are they gonna nerf em yet

They are a fair weapon: you sacrifice mobility and safety for large damage capabilities. If HBGs didn't have shields the Glutton would become significantly less used among the general player base and only used by speed runners really.

it doesn't need a nerf, its not even really that great honestly. Spread 3 isn't exactly a broken OP build or anything. I wouldn't even call it a top 3 build for HBGs...

well, lots of weapons/builds can do that, so its not really a good indicator of what needs to be nerfed. If anything about Glutton should be nerfed maybe, it'd be the KO rate of spread3 imo.

It's good, I just don't find myself using it much at all because I feel there are better options. But if you like it and it works for you, by all means use it. I just saw it as a worse option for KO/fatigue than sticky or bow arc shot, not a great raw damage option (cluster for hbg or just swap weapons, basically). It's good, just doesn't need to be nerfed.

There's a 100gb update along with 6.02, wonder what's in it?

Translated from Google Translate:

Required space for update

PlayStation 4: 100 GB expected (only for this update)

※ Monster Hunter: If you are updated for the first time after purchasing the world, you need about 5.9 GB of free space.

Looks like that was a typo. They've changed it to 100MB now: http://game.capcom.com/world/ja/infomation.html

I don't know but after the update I seem to be VERY lucky with 5 box tempered investigations. Prior to that I did not even know they existed, and I have 700 hours clocked

I have about 200 hours and don’t remember ever seeing a 5 box.

I've gotten 4 in the past couple weeks. Prior to that I'd only gotten two 5 reward tempered investigations since launch.

I don't get it.

Patch notes says this is 100mb update, yet when I launched the game update download showed me 6.192gb for Version 6.2.

The first update after purchasing Monster Hunter: World requires approximately 5.9 GB of free space.

Is that maybe it? Maybe some other updates piled up if you didn't launch the game in a while?

Still it’s weird. I play online sińce the launch, with all previous updates already installed. Maybe just my console is acting weird.

I was about to ask the same thing.

Far as I can tell, the old Palico auto-crit bug still works post-patch. Get Palico to negative Affinity like with the Witcher Nekker quest weapon or Deviljho weapon, and all your kitties attacks will crit, including Meowlotovs. At least, the Crit visual (white line) appears, although someone on PC with mods said it was indeed true crits.

Note that while Baan Ball and some other options are still likely "better," it is true that Nekker staff with Meowlotov (or Shieldspire) results in the most damage strictly from the kitty. And if anyone is upset that this will get more exposure and thus fixed, I'm sorry, but I do want the game to be bug-free. And honestly, Palico weapons need a full revamp. They don't work like how the devs envisioned, imo, thanks to scaling and various other things.

You are much better versed in the game meta than I am. Is this an underflow type issue where the data type can’t handle a negative value for palicos?

That would be the likely answer, I would assume. I don't have any intimate knowledge about it, I just heard it from a friend awhile back and figured I'd test it and report findings with the new patch.

It wouldn’t work through your link, I kept getting infinite loading screen. I opened up my browser separately and was able to find the notes in English
