Free pallet sources?

Recommendations

Looking for about 20 wood pallets for a community garden project (so nothing with freaky chemicals). Anyone work at place or know of a place that would be OK with a pick up or drop off of spare pallets?

Occasionally I've seen Free Pallets over at 1650 E Miller road.

I will do this, I imagine if they don't have them they might have ideas on where to get some

I think they sell them for $10 a piece, just saw their ads on Craigslist.

I was driving on E. North St this weekend and saw a sign next to a building at 401 E North St and it had a sign that said something about free palettes behind the building. Might be worth checking out.

Good tip!

Aren’t “all pallets” made with freaky chemicals?

I don't know much about it, I think they are sometimes marked to indicate any treatments. As long as they're not coming from a toxic waste dump I figure they're probably OK.

If you don't mind a bit of a drive, Christian's Greenhouse on Grand River over in Williamston usually has a ton of them! I'm not sure about the chemical situation with them, but you could call and ask.

Pallets are a hard thing to come by in my experience. I've got some in the backyard you could take (pm me if you want them). Uline also sells new plastic ones if you want to go that route

You can sometimes get them for free at the dump. At least you can at the garbage dump near me.

There's a "Free and Cheap" store on S. Pennsylvania that has pallets on occasion. They do have some strange hours, though, so beware of that.

There's a ton of free pallets (big ones) on the northeast corner of MLK and Grand River right now.

ABC Distributing, on Grand River across the river from Olympic Broil, usually has a stack of pallets out front.

This is going on right now

I’m gonna post a response here every time I see this sort of thing so tell me to stop when you score your pallets
