Hastily signed a lease, later discovered a cat pee smell throughout the hardwood floored living room and bedroom, with some spots smelling very strong.

We have tried to deep clean with pet odor mops, enzyme cleaner soaks, diluted vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide to little effect. I'm sure the smell is in the subfloor as well.

Tore out & replaced the visibly stained quarter round trim and painted over that and the moulding with an odor blocking primer plus regular eggshell paint. That did seem to reduce the smell.

Would it help to use the same process on the entire floor? Possibly an odor blocking primer followed by a porch enamel paint, and maybe polyurethane? Tearing out or refinishing

Merry Crisis! Although like snowflakes, migraines are all unique, I'm wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms?

The progression seems to be: fatigue, followed by a taut neck and shoulder, then jaw tightness, sinus pressure, sniffling, and finally a squeezing sensation around the eyeball. Usually this is all on one side, sometimes both. I become sensitive to light and sound, and during rare severe cases I have had nausea and blurry vision.

If it's a mild one, I often don't notice until my eye hurts. Usually I can tell they're coming when my neck feels stiff. I have not had what I would consider severe pain, but they do often debilitate me enough to keep me in a dark room all day.

I am sure we have all had to track our hours for a job. For this discussion I'm thinking more about personal or mandatory timers, spreadsheets, planners etc. that you use to record how your time was actually spent.

Personally, Toggl has revealed that I spend less time focused than I would like but it has also really helped me to accomplish overwhelming tasks.

Here are a couple of questions for those who do track their time, but please chime in even if you don't. I think it's an interesting idea that ties into the "should EAs be fast" discussion- EAs have a lot of pressure on them to use their time wisely.

  1. What tool/s do you use to track your time?

  2. Do you use time tracking to me

Free pallet sources?

Recommendations

Looking for about 20 wood pallets for a community garden project (so nothing with freaky chemicals). Anyone work at place or know of a place that would be OK with a pick up or drop off of spare pallets?

I am currently an Americorps member, serving full time through August 2019. I applied to my city's library system twice in the past year, but didn't hear back. This year my goal is to pay off my student loans, so I've started applying to part time jobs. I didn't really expect a call back this time either, but I applied to an entry level page position at the library anyway because I like to dream about working there.

I got a call back for an interview two days from now and I'm freaking out - I both need and want this job so badly! Please give me any and all advice on how not to fumble this!! How can I get myself hired even though I am also committed to americorps?

Important to note:

I like my hobonichi techo but I have no use for the quotes section, and I want to find a good way to utilize it in 2018. I imagine a kind of white-out or maybe a sticker that I could put over the entire section, leaving it as blank space. It would have to be thin, opaque, and able to be written on with pen (specifically frixion pens).

Does anyone have a recommendation? Or how do you make use of the quotes section?

5'4 in Lansing, Michigan. Used to bike around town but my old beater got stolen. Not into cycling as a sport or hobby, but I miss riding my bike and I want to use my car less. I'd use it for short <10 mile rides on crummy but flat city roads and paved trails. Intend to use it some during the winter. Traffic isn't too much of a concern.

I'll be buying secondhand, probably craigslist. Upper limit of two hundred something. Doesn't have to be fancy but needs to last. Any brand/type recommendations or things to look for would be a big help.

I've gained back at least six pounds out of the fifteen I lost. Yesterday I ate a whole pizza. I don't know where my discipline went. This is an inner conflict of willpower that I know I can win because I have before. But frankly, outer validation helps.

I would appreciate it more than you know if some team members shared their insight on getting over slumps like this. How do you get yourself back on the horse?

I shop just for myself, and it seems like every week I have to throw away a vegetable that's gone bad because I couldn't eat it in time. I buy very few groceries and even those according to planned recipes, so it's not that I'm buying too much per se. It's just that even the smallest portions for sale will last me long enough to go bad before I can eat them! This happens to me with:

Packaged spring greens

Bags of snap peas

Bean sprouts (it's like they're never ending)

Bunches of herbs

Etc. I love eating fresh veggies but I can't justify buying them to waste them. How can I keep them fresh longer, buy them smarter, or prepare them more efficiently so I stop throwing stuff in the co

It's about 4am where I am and I'm thinking about poetry for no particular reason.

I haven't really read any poetry since high school. I guess it seems frivolous or pretentious (not that I'm using my time well anyway). Recently I browsed my way through a bookstore and was surprised by how much I liked a small book of Irish poems, and another focusing on poems about Baghdad. And there have been poems I've come across in daily life that I still come back to.

So, what are your thoughts/experiences/memories/opinions dealing with poetry? Maybe share a favorite poem, and why you like it? It seems like a good late night (now early morning) topic somehow.
